We don’t have Magnolia Bakery here, but somehow their banana pudding became one of those desserts everyone knows about and wants to recreate. You hear about it, see it everywhere, and naturally get curious about what makes something so simple so loved.
Then you try it—and you understand. Soft layers of bananas, biscuits, and light vanilla cream come together into something incredibly comforting and hard to stop eating.

It’s not flashy or complicated, and that’s the beauty of it. Just a few familiar ingredients transforming into a dessert that tastes nostalgic, creamy, and satisfying in every spoonful.
It also gets better as it chills. The biscuits soften, the flavors blend, and everything turns into that signature texture people rave about.
So even if we don’t have Magnolia Bakery here, we can still bring that same famous dessert into our own kitchens—and honestly, that might be even better.
A creamy homemade banana pudding layered with fresh bananas, vanilla wafers, and fluffy pudding cream. Easy no-bake dessert perfect for any occasion.
In another bowl, whip cold heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
Fold the whipped cream gently into the chilled pudding mixture until smooth, fluffy, and fully combined.
In a trifle dish or any baking dish layer:
Repeat layers until finished. End with cream on top.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
This softens the wafers and gives an amazing texture.
Here in Lebanon, we don't have the Og Nilla wafers on hand. Although you can use any type of wafers of biscuits you like, I prefer to keep the same authentic taste and texture of the Magnolia Bakery Pudding. So I end up making my own wafers and I have to tell you, they turned out perfect!
